Greetings,
Due to popular harrasement, I decided to finally release SQK for comments.
I've been using it for sometime now in a "rough" form and I have smoothed it
enough to release it for comment.
Please excuse the documentation. My only excuse is that I am a programmer.
Support AMSAT! If you download this program from CIS or a BBS and use it
regularly, Please send a contribution to your local AMSAT organization.
One feature that I use deals with the FREQMODE.LST file I have included. I
keep a copy up to date with modes and frequencies of different satellites.
After you get the quiktrak files in the right order, read this file using
UPDATE (The file is in TEXT Format). This will set the proper frequencies and
modes (as of 1/1991). If you know frequencies for other satellites please
send them to me and I will update the list. I will upload updates to CIS.
Remember to remove the bulletin headers, garbage, and /EX from kep bulletin
files before using them with SQK!
NASA format will handle files with and without satellite names. The limitation
is that all entries have to be the same way.
AMSAT/TEXT format is somewhat flexible. If you donot use the keyword Sat
to start a entry the elements have to be indented.
Here are some valid entries:
Sat #1 Name: UoSat 2 Id: 14781 Ele Set 901
Epoch: 15Jan1991 025650 (12433.12280405) 14 Days
Inc: 97.9233 Raan: 65.4922 Ecc: 0.0011903 AP: 299.6991
MA: 60.3001 MM: 14.66068170 Decay: 1.465000e-05 ERev: 36701
Blat: 0.000000 Blon: 180.000000
Mode: VVVVVVV
Freq: V145.825U435.025S2401.5
Stype: 1 Mtype: 1
Sat Name: OSCAR 10 Id: 14129
Blat: -1.000000 Blon: 6.000000
Mode: 000O006B254O
Freq: B145.810
Stype: 0 Mtype: 0
UO-14 Id: 20437
UO-15 Id: 20438
PACSAT Id: 20439
DO-17 Id: 20440
WO-18 Id: 20441
LO-19 Id: 20442
The last example is useful when first creating quiktrak files. You
can easily arrange it in any order. The ID helps if the kep bulletin file
calls the satellite a slightly different name.
Please remember to include the colon after the keywords (except Sat).
If you find a kep bulletin file that is read wrong, send a copy with a note
indicating which entry caused the problem.
Comments are always welcome.
